Qatar is a giant workshop to develop its infrastructures and projects

Several Kuwaiti companies are entering the Qatari market taking advantage of the attracting business atmosphere trying to seize available opportunities in the undergoing projects in all sectors.

Al-Sharq met with Mr. Mohammed AL-Jasser, Director Client Affairs of Mushrif Trading & Contracting Company during his presence in Qatar where he emphasized that several Kuwaiti Companies in different sectors have established offices in Doha to benefit from the investment opportunities and major construction projects in Qatar. “We found warm welcoming and cooperation from governmental authorities and ministries represented in offering facilities for these projects such as, approvals, visas and authorizations”. He also stressed that these efforts contributed into reinforcing our presence in Qatar to play a role in the undergoing construction projects. He also underlined the officials understanding of Kuwaiti and Gulf companies’ presence to work in Qatar and to add to the partnership between the private and the public sector.

“Qatar was chosen for a number of reasons such as, economic climate and construction & service projects availability which rise up to Mushrif’s aspirations in addition to procedures’ flexibility” said Mr. Al-Jasser. He also brought out that the company has the advanced experiences, manpower and technical & financial resources which enable it to participate in major projects such as infrastructure development, road & heavy civil construction projects.

He also added that Mushrif’s works in Qatar reaches up to QR 508 million. Mushrif is currently conducting two projects for “Ashghal Qatar” and “Qatari Diar”. The first project is improving the West Doha Station for sewage processing with a value of QR 298.6 million. The project is handled as a sub-contractor within a coalition made of the Japanese Company “Marubeni” and the French Company “Degremont” and it aims to raise the capacity of the plant from 62,000 CuM/day 135,000 CuM/day. The latter project, however, is with Qatari Diar and it entails designing and operating  the plant for sewage processing with an operating power of 67,000 CuM/day. The project’s cost is QR 209.3 million and is conducted direct partnership (Joint Venture) with “Marubeni” & “Degremont”.
